Mary Hamilton, 94, of Woodville, Texas, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Mary was born in Rusk, Texas to Joshua Hall and Clara Bell Delaney on April 11, 1930. She loved her family and devoted her life to them, as she made a career out of taking care of her home and family. She enjoyed listening to music. Her favorites were gospel and piano music. She also enjoyed reading her Bible. Her favorite passage of scripture was Matthew 24.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joshua Hall and Clara Bell Delaney; daughter, Brenda Nash; great-grandson, Dustin Havard; great-great-granddaughter, Marley Havard; brother, Frank Delaney; sister, Flossie Hamilton; and by many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband of 77 years of marriage, Howard Hamilton of Woodville; son, Gary Hamilton and wife, Vicky of Woodville; daughters, Rebecca Grant and husband, Dwayne of Buna and Kelli Peter and husband Dale of Ooltewah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Diane, Daniel, Kina, Kevin, Kelly, Clayton, Russell, Anna, Ross, Melinda, Wes, Danny and Jared; numerous great-grandchildren; also survived by her faithful hairdresser and friend, Katie Evans.
Visitation will be at Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2024, at New Salem Cemetery in Rusk, Texas. Officiating will be Brother Steve Im. Serving as pallbearers will be Clayton Hamilton, Russell Hamilton, Wesley Dalgleish, Ross Hamilton, Michael Hamilton and Kory Davis. Serving as alternate pallbearers will be Daniel Capps, Kevin Capps, Daniel Peter and Jared Peter.
Services are under the direction of Riley Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
